Even in his youth, Ramin Javadi, the son of an Iranian immigrant, born and raised in Germany, made progress in music. He played the guitar and piano masterfully, which allowed him to easily enter Berkeley College and graduate with honors from the most prestigious educational institution for musicians. The young composer’s first work was the soundtrack to the sequel to the popular computer game “System Shock,” after which the talented Berkeley graduate was noticed by Hans Zimmer and invited him to his studio Remote Control Productions.

During his collaboration with Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djawadi took part in creating soundtracks for such cult films as Batman Begins, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and many others. Djawadi’s work as an independent composer began with the soundtrack to Blade: Trinity, the final part of David Goyer’s Blade trilogy, and earned him a contract with the series of the same name.

The next significant stage in the composer’s work was the work on the music for the film “Iron Man”. Ramin Djawadi, a big fan of the story of the superhero inventor since childhood, wrote the soundtrack for the film adaptation of the Marvel comic book “Iron Man”, which received a Grammy, and its main theme “Driving With The Top Down” with a heavy guitar part became a mass hit.

In 2013, Djawadi wrote the music for the science fiction film Pacific Rim. He composed the score for the FX vampire drama The Strain, created by Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro. In 2016, Djawadi composed the music for the science fiction film Warcraft and the HBO science fiction show Westworld. The same year, Djawadi wrote the music for the science fiction action film The Great Wall. Djawadi composed the score for the animated film The Royal Corgi, directed by frequent collaborator Ben Stassen. He co-wrote “Hollow Crown” with Ellie Goulding in For the Throne: Music Inspired by HBO’s Game of Thrones. In 2019, he won his second consecutive Emmy Award for the Game of Thrones episode “The Long Night.”

But, despite this and numerous other undeniably talented works of the composer (Escape, Dracula, Warcraft, Pacific Rim), a wide audience associates the name Ramin Djawadi primarily with the music for the Game of Thrones series. Almost two hundred compositions written by Djawadi for the most successful series in the history of the HBO channel have become classics of film music.
