Sustantivo news (noticias) usado con un significado singular, aunque tiene una forma plural:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">What is the news?<\/span> \u00bfCu\u00e1l es la noticia?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Nombres de ciencias terminadas en \u2013ics <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(mathematics, physics, economics, phonetics etc<\/span>.), se utilizan con un significado singular, aunque tienen una forma plural:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Phonetics is a branch of linguistics.<\/span> La fon\u00e9tica es una rama de la ling\u00fc\u00edstica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. Los sustantivos usados \u200b\u200bsolo en singular requieren el uso de verbos despu\u00e9s de ellos solo en singular:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Her hair is long and wavy.<\/span> Su cabello es largo y ondulado.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Mathematics forms the basis of many other sciences.<\/span> Las matem\u00e1ticas forman la base de muchas otras ciencias.<br \/>\nSustantivo \u201cpolice\u201d (polic\u00eda) usado con un verbo solo en plural:<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> The police have arrested a friend of mine.<\/span> La polic\u00eda arrest\u00f3 a mi amigo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6. Si un sustantivo colectivo denota un colectivo, un grupo de personas representadas como un todo, entonces concuerda con el verbo singular:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">My family is large.<\/span> Mi familia es grande (en su conjunto).<br \/>\nLa misma palabra concuerda con un verbo en plural si denota miembros individuales de un equipo o grupo:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">My family are early risers.<\/span> Todos en nuestra familia se levantan temprano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ejemplos de sustantivos colectivos:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Team, company, family, staff, firm, government<\/span><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
