Together with employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 1,270 citizens were evacuated from settlements threatened by a natural disaster. To eliminate the consequences of landscape fires in the Kurgan region, over 470 employees of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs were involved, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
Residents of the region stayed with relatives, others were provided with hotels for a while. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 500 people had to be urgently removed from SNT and nearby settlements. Many left on their own, others decided to defend their homes in the fight against the fiery element.
Local residents say that many were injured in the fire. People were taken away by ambulance. By evening the fire was contained. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations already at night extinguished it until it was completely eliminated. As a result of a fire in the village of Morevskoye, Vargashinsky district, a woman born in 1955 died in one of the residential buildings.
The causes of the fire are being established. The audit will be made a procedural decision.
Currently, in the territory of gardening communities and settlements from which residents have been evacuated, police officers are protecting public order and the property of citizens. “Due to a large-scale forest fire taking place in close proximity to the roadway and heavy smoke on the federal road Ekaterinburg-Shadrinsk-Kurgan, special equipment and vehicles intended for evacuation were escorted.
At present, traffic inspectors continue to serve and will patrol the roads until the situation is completely stabilized.
The wildfire posed a threat to 14 settlements in three municipal districts. There is currently no threat. There remains slight smoke in the region, but there is no excess of harmful substances in the air, Shumkov said.
