Aviation was brought in to extinguish wildfires in the Emelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reports. Emelyanovsky district is partially located in the suburbs of the regional capital, Krasnoyarsk. The department explained that at the moment many citizens have left for this territory.
Numerous burns of dry vegetation are observed in the region. In particular, in the Taskino gardening community near Krasnoyarsk, eight non-residential buildings are burning on an area of three thousand square meters, including grass. In addition, in the area of the settlement of Kubekovo, grass is burning in two outbreaks; in the village of Solontsy near Krasnoyarsk, grass is burning on an area of about five hectares.
“All aircraft were used in the Yemelyanovsky district,” the message says. According to the department, a total of two helicopters were used. At the moment one board is working.
Over the past 24 hours, employees of the regional Forest Fire Center extinguished 17 forest fires on an area of 153 hectares in the Sukhobuzimsky, Emelyanovsky, Birilyussky, Dzerzhinsky, Rybinsky, Bolshemurtinsky, Balakhtinsky, Shushensky, Abansky, Uyarsky, Idrinsky, Mansky districts and the Sharypovsky municipal district. 184 people and 44 pieces of special equipment were involved in the fire extinguishing, according to the website of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. 7 aircraft were involved in air patrols and delivery of forces and equipment to fires.
Previously, the fire spread to the forest from lands of other categories and through the fault of the local population.
Today, there are 4 forest fires in the region covering an area of 27 hectares in the Birilyussky, Emelyanovsky, Dzerzhinsky and Karatuzsky districts. There is no threat to populated areas. One fire has been contained. 53 people are taking part in the fire extinguishing effort, and 9 pieces of equipment are involved.
During a fire in the village of Gmiryanka, Rybinsk region, four houses caught fire; when police arrived at the scene, they found the body of a 70-year-old woman. According to preliminary information, dry grass in the village caught fire after local residents took ash to one place. The fire spread to the house, in which there was a cylinder with household gas. It is believed that the woman who helped put out the fire died from the explosion of the cylinder.
